Alan Murchison together with his highly dedicated and talented team run the Michelin starred L’ortolan in Shinfield, Berkshire and the award winning La Bécasse in Ludlow, Shropshire.
Alan and his Head Chefs are all passionate about using seasonal produce & classic marriages of flavours. We are always looking to take the food forward to the next level by embracing new culinary techniques and using modern presentation. The ethical and nutritional elements of each dish the team creates are taken into account at every stage. Whenever possible we work with local produce and suppliers and use very little butter, cream or carbohydrates to give the food a lighter, cleaner taste and finish.
The aim of the Restaurant Mangers Ania and Greg is to offer the most professional and relaxed of service in a comfortable environment, enhancing the dining experience through inspirational and informed food and complementary wine. We offer our guests a number of menus from the Menu Du Jour to a 12 course Menu ‘surprise’.
The restaurant dining rooms are sympathetic to the period features of the listed buildings, which are enchanced through contemporary and innovative interior design.
